This week has been incredible!
So there seems to be a trend. The first week of every transfer thus far, we have gotten more lessons in that week than we ever got in any previous transfer.
The goals we set for this transfer are a stretch, but I believe they are obtainable. Goals are so important because if you don't have a goal, you don't have any direction and you don't really have anything keeping you on track. This week, we have continued to do service for people. It has been snowing the past 2-3 days but luckily the flakes are not very big and it hasn't been sticking. There is only about an inch of snow on the ground!
Transfers were on Tuesday. I was with another Elder in my area for the morning and early afternoon. I got my new companion this week at about 3pm on Tuesday and we stopped by a few people. This one man in particular is very fun to talk to. He served in the Air Force and still holds the record for number of times flown over the North Pole. He has so many stories but most importantly, he is an excellent member missionary and he is constantly handing out copies of the Book of Mormon and spreading the Gospel. He always seems to have a referral for us to visit. The reason I bring him up is because he shared a quote with me that I loved:
"Faith is the most wonderful thing in life, that one great moving force which can neither be weighed in the balance nor tested in a crucible." - Sir William Osler
Thursday night I had arguably one of the most spiritual experiences I have had thus far on my mission. The lady I discussed in my last e-mail: Sister Tarango. We went to visit her on Thursday while on splits with the Young Men. I was with Taylor and Elder Boss was with Brett. Taylor and I stopped by Sister Tarango and we had a long conversation about her conversion story (she is a member of about 3-4 years) as well as things she dislikes about the church. She is very vocal about everything. We finally got around to sharing a spiritual thought and we shared 2 Nephi 4:34-35 which I shared in one of my first e-mails. It has to do with trusting in the Lord. She spoke about how she didn't feel she trusted him completely and we helped her out. On our way out the door she said that she didn't think she would be able to make to church on sunday because of the pain from her surgery on her back recently. She also had a boot on her foot. I had a prompting stronger than I have ever felt before to tell her the following: "If you come to church on sunday, I promise you that you will not feel pain while you are at church and you will feel Heaven'y Father's love for you individually." She got quite and I promised her that was words from God. I really though she was going to come to church, but she decided not to. She loves having us over and hasn't in years so will will continue to go over there and help her feel of the spirit and make the decision for herself to come to church.
Friday we went to a Family Discovery Day where they had classes about how to find your ancestors and all that good stuff. it was so powerful and there were so many people there, members and non-members. It is incredible how the powers of ancestors can bring people so close together.
Saturday wasn't very busy. We only had to help with 2 moves, the first one took about an hour but the second one took from about 1-4 then 6-7:15. We helped this lady move last week as well. This time we just had to help her move stuff from storage. She didn't really have anyone else to turn to so we felt obligated to do so. It was difficult because the weather was not cooperative. It flipped between snow and hail. She was very grateful for our service and we are planning on meeting up with her sometime this week.
Spiritual Thought:
My spiritual thought this week is one that I have shared with many members during this week. The thought comes from a talk entitled Safety For The Soulby Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. Watch this video:

I can't tell you enough how much this testimony has helped my remember my own. My testimony of the Book of Mormon is one that I will never deny. I have been to the site where the first Book of Mormon was published, I have been to Joseph Smith's first home. I have been to Nauvoo and to Carthage Jail where he sealed his testimony with his blood. He died for something he knew to be true. Right before he passed, Hyrum read from the wonderful book of Ether and then turned down the corner of the page. Here is what he read:
36 And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord that he would give unto the Gentiles grace, that they might have charity. 37 And it came to pass that the Lord said unto me: If they have not charity it mattereth not unto thee, thou hast been faithful; wherefore, thy garments shall be made clean. And because thou hast seen thy weakness thou shalt be made strong, even unto the sitting down in the place which I have prepared in the mansions of my Father. 38 And now I, Moroni, bid farewell unto the Gentiles, yea, and also unto my brethren whom I love, until we shall meet before the judgment-seat of Christ, where all men shall know that my garments are not spotted with your blood.
What wonderful verses. I testify of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and I promise you will be blessed if you read it "and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."
